Volunteer Requirements

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients and volunteers, Coast and Country Community Services requires all volunteers to meet a few important criteria:

• Screening & Certification: Volunteers must hold—or be willing to obtain—a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, a valid Working with Children Check, and a First Aid Certificate.
• Driver Requirements: If you’re interested in volunteering as a driver, you’ll also need a current Driver Licence appropriate to the vehicle you wish to drive (e.g., LR for buses, C for cars or vans) and the Passenger Transport Code added to your licence.

We’ll guide you through the process and cover the costs of required checks and assessments. Our goal is to make volunteering accessible, safe, and rewarding for everyone involved.

Whether it’s helping someone get to a medical appointment, delivering meals to a neighbour, or providing social support to reduce isolation, your generosity makes a real difference.

Volunteer Roles

Our drivers and assistants provide essential support to individuals—many with mobility challenges—helping them safely from their front door to their destination. We also welcome volunteers to assist in our offices with a variety of tasks that keep our services running smoothly. Our volunteer roles include:

• Bus, Van or Car Driver
• Transport Assistant
• Administrative Helper

Ready to get started? Fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch, visit one of our offices to chat in person, or call us on 1300 411 345 to discuss the type of volunteering that suits you.

WHO WE ARE

OUR STORY

Coast and Country Community Services (CCCS) is a community service provider dedicated to fostering community connections and ensuring access to essential services. Established in 2014 through the merger of Shoalhaven and Young Community Transport (CT) Services, CCCS has grown significantly over the past decade. We have integrated Boorowa, Weddin Shire, Bega Valley, Kiama and Wollongong-Shellharbour CT Services, creating a network of integrated support across southern NSW. CCCS has recently taken over a commercial taxi service in Weddin Shire to better support the broader community. Our offices are located on the lands of the Yuin, Dharawal, and Wiradjuri peoples. We honour and pay our respects to First Nations peoples, their elders past, present, and emerging. Transportation is at the heart of CCCS, providing residents with reliable access across various Local Government Areas (LGAs). This service is crucial for connecting individuals who might otherwise face mobility barriers, promoting inclusivity and community engagement. At CCCS, we do more than just transport people; we provide vital links to essential services and social connections within their communities. Community Transport is the backbone of our organization, ensuring reliable mobility for all. As the needs of our communities evolve, CCCS is broadening its scope to include NDIS support, Meals on Wheels, and various social support programs, aiming to meet wider community needs and improve the quality of life for individuals. Our diverse team of volunteers and paid staff enables us to effectively serve the community while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. This growth allows us to better meet the diverse and changing needs of our communities. With plans for further expansion into additional care support services, CCCS remains committed to its mission of enabling people to connect with and participate in their communities. We strive to build capacity that promotes independence and enhances quality of life, bridging gaps and overcoming disadvantages.
