Community Transport “Ride and Thrive” Trial FAQ

What is the Community Transport “Ride and Thrive” Trial?

It’s a new trial funded by Transport for NSW to help people in regional NSW get to study, training or work when they don’t have a reliable way to get there. Coast & Country Community Services is one of 16 community transport providers chosen to deliver it. If transport has been the thing holding you back, we may be able to help.

You might be eligible if you have limited or no access to private or public transport, you’re studying or working as an apprentice or trainee (or about to start), and you live in regional NSW. You also need to not already be receiving government-funded transport. Other eligibility criteria may apply, so if you’re not sure, the easiest thing is to register your interest, and we’ll talk it through with you.

Registering your interest is free, and there’s no obligation. We’ll explain any costs involved when we talk through your options, so you’ll know where you stand before anything goes ahead.

Fill in the short online form to register your interest; it only takes a few minutes. From there, we’ll get in touch to check your eligibility and talk about what you need and what’s available in your area. As capacity is limited, registering doesn’t guarantee a place, but it’s the first step to finding out.

Yes. If you’re under 18, just ask a parent or guardian to complete the form with you so they’re across it too. Everything else works the same way.

The trial runs until 30 June 2027. It operates along set routes across regional NSW. The areas currently covered are:
· Bega Valley — Eden, Merimbula and Bega
· Hilltops — Boorowa, Harden and Young
· Young to Wagga Wagga
· Ulladulla to Nowra
· Nowra, Kiama and the Illawarra
Start dates vary from route to route, so timing may differ depending on where you are. If your area is on the list, register your interest and we’ll let you know what’s happening near you. Places are limited.
